This exhibition pavilion is located in Middelheim Park in Antwerp. It is adjacent to other pavilions constructed within the same adaptable volume. The featured artwork is “SHY,” a sculpture by Anthony Gormley, situated on the pavilion’s rooftop.
Accessible through an architectural pathway that begins with a grand staircase, this staircase is the centerpiece of the project. It’s intricate, providing various routes to ascend, creating a playful space for younger visitors. The journey continues, leading into a narrow and dimly lit corridor. A few steps further, visitors can admire Gormley’s artwork and enjoy the view of the rest of the park.
This project was made in September of 2022 and was my first project.
