“Lapis” is a sculpture that mimics the form and natural appearance of a rock through a unique fabrication process. It’s irregular, rough, and its earthy walls contrast with the upper surface of the sculpture, which is smooth and uniform. The sides, covered in red earth, integrates it into the surrounding. The upper surface is slightly concave and filled with water, reflecting the blue sky. The accumulated water gives the sculpture a purpose, serving as an oasis for all forms of life, from horses and insects to birds and curious children.
